Kids ages 6 and up

Bring the spirit of the sea to life through creativity, community, and hands-on artmaking in celebration of the Greenport Maritime Festival. This program invites children  to explore their imagination while connecting to the rich maritime heritage of Greenport.

Each child will have a unique creation to showcase during the parade and a deeper connection to art, storytelling, and the maritime identity that makes our town so special.

Book one or 3 dates to create a cohesive look for the maritime parade!

Register early: enrollment is limited to 12 students.

Wednesday  August 26th, Umbrella Jellyfish-participants will create whimsical jellyfish umbrellas inspired by the movement and colors of the ocean. Using ribbons, glitter and lightweight materials, children will transform umbrellas into flowing, sea-inspired creations that encourage sensory exploration, creativity, and play. These wearable artworks are designed to move beautifully during the Greenport Maritime Festival parade.

Thursday August 27th,  Under the sea Crown -participants will design and construct sea-inspired headpieces. Drawing from maritime elements such as coral, shells, and sea life, students will explore form, texture, and structure in their headpieces. This session emphasizes creativity, design thinking, and personal expression in preparation for completing their full parade look.

Friday  August 28th, Sea creature cape -  participants will paint and embellish their capes with bold, ocean-inspired imagery. Incorporating color, movement, and mixed materials. Celebrating fashion and bringing to life the spirit of flow of water.

Please note: Our workshops are designed for children ages 6 and up. We kindly ask that you refrain from registering younger children. Participants under the age minimum cannot be accepted into class, and tuition will be forfeited. Thank you for helping us keep the experience safe, supportive, and developmentally aligned for all artists!

Workshops are Non-Refundable. 

We are unable to rebook or refund your payment for failing to attend or missing a day. If you’re unable to make it, workshops are transferable to friends and family. Please reach out so we can change the name on the reservation. Thank you!
