Craft a Mexican Whimsical Alebrije with Erwin List
Embark on a creative journey to bring your imagination to life as you design, sculpt, and paint your very own Alebrije, a fantastical creature from Mexican folk art.
We will meet 3 Thursdays in May, 9th, 16th and 23rd at 6PM. The workshop duration is One hour to an hour 15 minutes. *Please select our first meeting Thursday May 9th and add to check out to apply to the whole workshop.
The cost of the whole workshop is $120 with all materials included.
Day One, Thursday May 9th:

Unleash your creativity: Sketch out your unique alebrije design, letting your imagination run wild with colorful creatures and intricate details.

Build the foundation: Construct a wire armature to serve as the skeletal structure of your alebrije, providing support and shape.

Begin the sculpting process: Using a variety of sculpting materials, bring your alebrije to life by adding volume and texture to its form.
Day Two, Thursday May 16th:

Refine your alebrije: Continue sculpting your alebrije, adding finer details and ensuring a smooth, polished surface.

Embellish with distinctive features: Craft horns, wings, eyes, and other unique features that bring your alebrije to life and embody its character.

Prepare for transformation: Apply a base coat to your alebrije, providing a foundation for the vibrant colors to come.
Day Three, Thursday May 23rd:

Unleash your artistic flair: Transform your alebrije into a magical creature using acrylic paints and your creativity as your guide.
- Embrace bold colors and patterns: Draw inspiration from traditional Mexican folk art and let your imagination guide your brushstrokes.
- Finalize your creation: By letting it dry to ensure your alebrije remains a cherished piece of art for years to come.\
