KIDS Craft a Mexican Whimsical Alebrije with Erwin List
Embark on a creative journey to bring your imagination to life as you design, sculpt, and paint your very own Alebrije, a fantastical creature from Mexican folk art.
We will meet 3 dates:
Sunday September 29th, Sunday October 6th and Sunday October 13th. 3 to 4PM *Please select our first meeting Sunday September 29th and add to check out to apply to the whole workshop.
The cost of the whole workshop is $120 with all materials included.
Day One, Sunday, September 29th:

Let Your Imagination Soar: Start by drawing your very own magical creature, known as an alebrije. Use all the colors and details you can dream of!

Build the Skeleton: Create the frame of your alebrije using wire. This will be like its bones, helping it stand tall and take shape.

Bring It to Life: Begin shaping your alebrije using different sculpting materials. Add some bumps, curves, and textures to make it unique!
Day Two, Sunday, October 6th:

Make It Shine: Keep working on your alebrije, adding more details and smoothing it out to get it ready for the next steps.

Add Special Features: Create things like horns, wings, or eyes to give your alebrije its own personality. Make it as wild or as cute as you want!

Get Ready to Paint: Cover your alebrije with a base coat to prepare it for the bright, beautiful colors you'll paint next.
Day Three, Sunday, October 13th:

Color Your Creature: Use colorful paints to bring your alebrije to life! Let your creativity guide you as you add bold colors and patterns.

Make It Pop: Be inspired by Mexican folk art and let your imagination lead your paintbrush to create something amazing.

Finish Up: Let your alebrije dry so it can be a special piece of art you'll treasure for a long time.

If you’re unable to make it, workshops are transferable to friends and family. Please reach out so we can change the name on the reservation. Thank you!
