We had a blast celebrating Greenport’s 36th Annual Maritime Festival, benefiting the East End Seaport Museum!
Getting ready with our young artists
In the weeks leading up to the festival, kids and adults joined us at the studio for hands-on workshops, and together they created 66 pieces to wear during Maratime Parade & Festival. Watching young makers dive into their ideas, mix colors, and bring their creations to life was very fun, and a wonderful way to build excitement for the big weekend.
Marching in the parade
VEME Studios joined the festival parade, bringing a splash of color (and a few fins) down the streets of Greenport, celebrating our town’s deep connection to the water alongside neighbors, friends, and fellow local businesses.
Welcome to the Fish Realm
For the festival, we joined forces to create an underwater party: FISH heads created by Verona, and seaweed sculptures by Melissa. The Fish Realm welcomed hundreds of people of all ages who came together to wear the masks, dance, play, and embrace the joy of being a fish. Seeing that joy spread was the greatest gift we could have received, and it reminded us why we do what we do.
Why we create
At VEME, we believe creativity brings people together. It gives us a reason to connect, to be curious, to play, and to celebrate the beautiful, wonderfully unique people who make our town what it is.
Thank you, Greenport
A heartfelt thank you to the organizers for putting together such a fantastic festival, and to everyone who stopped by, wore a mask, shared a smile, or simply waved at us. You made this experience what it was, and we love you for it!
